Have you ever faked it?

I was looking at a few TED talks recently and saw one on Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer, regarding his commencement address at Stanford University.  This is an excerpt from that talk:

“…. for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose...."

This drawing is about the millions of people that fake it every day because they are fearful of the unknown.  Wonder what would happen if they used the Steve Jobs method?

Be an original

You look at your bright yellow shirt trying to decide if it's too much for the party: you decide on the white one.  You don't like the decision about to be made by the design team, but you agree anyway.  You want a Harley, but none of your friends have motorcycles, so you don't get one.   Cultural norms create tremendous pressure; however, there is a day coming when you will say, "Why in the hell didn't I ............."

The timing will never be more perfect than right now.  Be yourself, be an original.
